    一気に読了。24人の上方芸人の各人各様の生き方が、自伝を丁寧に読み解いた著者の芸人に対する尊敬の気持ちが感じられる文章で綴られている。藤山寛美やミヤコ蝶々といった著名人だけでなく、梅中軒鶯童や橘ノ円都などの前々時代の寄席芸人から岡八郎まで実に多彩。あとがきにあるように、著者の好みにやや偏りがあるものの、その偏りがまた魅力的なセレクトになっている。この手の本を書くには若い著者に思えるが、続編に期待しつつ、拍手をおくりたい。
