    124年前、ニューヨークの新聞社の記者が、8歳の女の子からの質問に真正面から答えた社説を本にしたものです。真面目に読めば心温まる内容ですが、鼻白んでしまう方は、不必要にドラマチックにする感じで大げさに声に出して読むと(宝塚風の三枚目な感じ)、笑えるお話になります。昔、小学生2人に大げさな声色で読み上げたら1人は大ウケ、もう1人は唖然、でした。小さいサイズの本で、白黒印刷ですが幻想的な挿絵も美しいです。
