　フーガの技法を大編成のオケの演奏で聴いてみたいと以前から思っていたのですが、このCDのおかげでそれがかないました。ウォルフガング・グレーザーという人物が編曲した大管弦楽版フーガの技法を戦前にシェルヘンがパリで演奏したことがあると聞いてこのグレーザー版が聴きたいと以前から思っていたのですが、CDが無く実演で取り上げる指揮者もいませんでした。そんな私にとってこのベルゲル版は朗報でした。編曲にも演奏にも大いに満足しました。私が今一番好きなフーガの技法です。もしストコフスキーがこの曲を編曲＆指揮していたらどうなっていたでしょうね？

1685年：アイゼナハで誕生。 1700年：リューネブルクに移り、修道院付属学校の給費生として生活。 1703年：ヴァイマルの宮廷楽団に就職。 1707年：ミュールハウゼンの聖ブラジウス教会オルガニストに就任。同年、マリア・バルバラ・バッハと結婚。 1708年：ヴァイマルに移って宮廷オルガニストに就任。 1714年：楽師長
