1840年:ロシアのウラル地方ヴォトキンスクで鉱山技師の次男として誕生。 1859年:法務省に勤務。 1861年:アントン・ルービンシュタインが設立した音楽教室（1962年にペテルブルク音楽院となる）に入学。 1863年:法務省を退職。 1866年:交響曲第1番『冬の日の幻想』初演。初のオペラ「地方長官」を完成。 1875年:ピア
