シェヘラザードは星5つ。曲想的にはアメリカやフランスのオケで聴きたいと思っていたが、重厚なドイツサウンドで聴くScheherazadeも一興。オケの響きでこうも聴き味が変わるものか、という好例。マゼールのお約束芸的な語り口も面白い。BPOで敢えてのお涙頂戴節とは恐れ入る。展覧会の絵は星4つ。限界ぎりぎりではなく余裕たっぷりの金管セクションが素晴らしい。シカゴサウンドとはかくあるべき。

素晴らしいカップリング。 特にジュリーニ／シカゴ響の「展覧会の絵」は以前から評価の高い演奏です。両曲とも録音、演奏ともに素晴らしく充分満足できます。
