2010 release. Both of Johann Sebastian Bach's secular cantatas presented here belong to a series of ceremonial works with which the St. Thomas Kantor made an increasing effort to win the favors of the electoral court in Dresden in the years 1733 and 1734. Later, Bach was to use parts of the two cantatas for his Christmas Oratorio. The works are performed by the award-winning Knabenchor Hannover, accompanied by a professional early music ensemble Baroque orchestra L'ARCO. Ars Musici.
