LPでボストンSO盤を持っている。私にとっては最高の演奏だった。期待してこの盤を購入、録音は高ランクではあるが、T.トーマスも円くなったな〜と思う。繊細さが加味されたと言えなくもないが、寂しい限り。ただ、オマケの「火の鳥」がエスプリが効いて素晴らしい。全体として優秀な録音、演奏にはちがいなので、５★

旧盤と合わせて視聴しました。ドラティほどではないにしても、かなりシャープな旧盤に対し、この新盤は“人間の作り出す音”の感じが増しているように聴こえます。旧盤がエッジの効いた万年筆によるものだとすれば、こちらは毛筆(かすれも魅力的な)の温かみ。ですが、決して温い出来にはなっていません。トーマスも年齢を重ね、匙加減が巧みになってきたのでしょう。楽団との信頼関係も増し、その匙加減を見事に表現してくれている。現在、世界中でベストのコンビなのではないか…とまで思ってしまいます。
