    ペンキ塗りのエピソードが大好きなので再読。仕事→遊びと発想を転換することで、他人に喜んで遊び(仕事)をさせ、自分はビー玉やらおかしやらの報酬まで得るという興味深い革命を、トムが行う話です。 離れ島に子ども３人で海賊ごっこしに出かけて英雄になったり、恋人のベッキーと意地を張り合ったり、洞窟で迷子になったり、脈絡がないといえばないのですが、盛り沢山な小説です。
