白人ヴォーカルとしてはかなりソウルフルな部類に入るジョン・フォガティのヴォーカルをフィーチャーしたCCRは、同時期のザ・バンドとはまた少し違った形でサイケの時代に古典的な米ルーツ的な音楽を鳴らした。CCRのほうはよりシンプルな初期ロックンロール的色彩が強く、多くのヒット・チューンを生み出すことが出きるようなキャッチーさをも備えていたのが特徴的である。
