協奏曲は、「円熟」や「巨匠風」といった表現の対極にあると思われる演奏。特に弦楽セクションとティンパニは、「きばる」「張り上げる」「ぶちかます」という感じで、非常に力んだ鳴らし方をしています。まるで猛獣が獲物を追いかけているかのようで、少々下品ですらある。ピアノ協奏曲第1番でこういう演奏なら歓迎ですが、この曲には微妙…。アバドと、当時手兵のベルリン・フィルによるライブある以上、仕方ないかもしれませんが、それに煽られてムローヴァもやたらと強奏しまくっており、弱奏の部分が少ないため聴いていて落ち着かないです。ソナタに関しては、恥ずかしながら初めて聴いたので、競合盤との比較ができませんが、アンデルジェフスキの落ち着いた、メリハリのある演奏に引き込まれます。 Both Mullova and the orchestra are too aggressive! Timpani and strings of the orchestra are especially noisy! Abbado and BPO should give such a performance for example in Brahms’s first piano concerto rather than this concerto. In the sonata, Anderszewski’s performance is exquisite, Mullova’s performance is acceptable and simpler than that in this concerto.
