    「映像を見なくても、独立した作品として十分鑑賞できる」とは、発表当事によく言われた言葉。確かにその通りだが、逆にサントラであることをいつまでも引きずらなければならない宿命に哀れさを感じる。実際はこの後シェルタリング〜やラストエンペラー等、次々と傑作サントラを発表するわけで、壮大な序章に過ぎない。
