　これこそ傑出した歴史的名盤と言えよう。チャイコフスキーの6番は、聴き慣れた曲であるにもかかわらず、初めて聴く曲のように新鮮な感動がある。EMIによる正規盤のCDが主にチェリビダッケが椅子に腰掛けて80歳代で指揮をしていた頃が中心であったのに比して、音楽における精神的な軸は一にしつつも、このCDにおける40歳代後半のチェリビダッケが体全体を使って躍動感に溢れた指揮をしていた時期においては、より深遠性に勝るデリケートな感性と強烈な迫力が伝わってくる。 　モンテヴェルディのアヴェ・マリア・ステラ（25分08秒）はチェリビダッケの指揮によるものとしては非常に稀少であり、チェリビダッケの宗教音楽への根源的な純粋性を理解する手掛かりとしても是非聴いておきたい録音である。
