アンソニー・ホプキンスは2011年に90歳を迎えたイギリスの作曲家で、同姓同名の俳優とは別人です（ちなみに、俳優のアンソニー・ホプキンスも作曲を嗜み、ＣＤも発売されています）。さて作曲家のホプキンスは王立音楽院でシリル・スコットに師事し、イギリス国内で数々の賞を受賞しています。作風は20世紀前半の様々な作曲家の影響を受けており、室内楽にはバルトーク、ベルクのエコーが聞こえ、歌曲にはヴォーン＝ウィリアムズやホルストからの影響が感じられます。（TOBU）
