This 2010 CD is essentially about the work of Johann Philipp Kirnberger. Kirnberger is known first and foremost as a music theorist but he also composed. on the one hand Kirnberger's style is occasionally comparable to C. P. E. Bach's gallant writing style however, elements of the teacher generation of Bach and Handel also blend together in his compositions. Henrik Wiese (born in 1971) undoubtedly belongs to the most gifted flautists of his generation forms an absolutely perfect trio with his musical partners on this CD.
