おバカ男オンパレードのイタリアオペラ、オテロだってひとりの男の言葉だけで妄想肥大、そうとうおかしくね。ところが天下のテノールが歌っている役がおかしいわけねえだろとせまってくるのがこの御仁。なんてったってかっこいいオテロを見てみたい方におすすめです。N響盤はパッケージでビビッて手を出しかねているのですが、舞台姿ではこちらのほうがよいはずとそのパッケージだけで断定(異議は無条件で認めます)。Br、Sの有名度はN響盤が上でしょうが本盤もなかなかの方々です。口パクが玉に瑕。

The best feature in this filmed performance is Rosanna Carteri’s Desdemona. She is beautiful to look at and also a fabulous singer. She seems even better Desdemona than the great Renata Tebaldi, displaying genuine vulnerability.
