    ご注意いただきたいのは、「２枚組でこの価格」ということだ。１枚目のスカラ座中心の合唱集は、演奏の壮大さ、録音の響きの豊かさ、ムーティの堂に入った音楽運び、すべての点でヴェルディの偉大さを再認識させてくれる。２枚目のフィルハーモニアの序曲集はアナログ後期の録音が多いが、音の古さや硬さをほとんど感じないリマスタリングが施されている。演奏はもちろん活きの良さと壮麗さを兼ね備えたすばらしいものである。イタリア・オペラのアリア集はさすがにお持ちだという方は、ヴェルディ・オペラ全曲への入門として、ぜひ聴いてみていただきたい。

    チェルクェッティの最高の遺産と言うだけでなく、ソプラノによるヴェルディ歌唱の最高峰に位置する名唱だと思う。第1幕の登場のシーンから、その力みのない自然さと、充実した響きの純度で耳を欹てずにおかない。音楽が熱を帯びてくるに従い、雄大さを感じさせる歌唱へ羽ばたく様は、何度聞いてもワクワクする。Boleroでの技巧の冴えと高音域まで斑のない音響も、完璧と言うほかない。ロッシ指揮のオーケストラと合唱も、作品への共感を強く感じさせ、頗る感動的である。モノラル録音だが、放送用のため音質はとても良い。共演のオルティカは、残念ながら二流の域を出ない。タリアブーエは衰えが明らかでハスキーな音色になっている。クリストフは何を歌っても同じ調子だが、場違いな感じが強い。
