    本書は、「マンガでわかる」というタイトルであるが、マンガそのものではなく、マンガも活用しつつ、充実した解説（史実、物語、地理等）によって、三国志と三国志演戯にまつわる様々な情報をわかりやすく示している。その意味でかなり魅力的な本であるといえる。登場人物についても一面的な評価にとどまらず、歴史的背景を踏まえ、その評価の重点がどのように変化したのかについて触れているのもありがたい。こうしたことから、評者としては、本書はタイトルで損をしていると思う（あるいはタイトルからマンガそのものだと思う人はガッカリするかもしれない）。いずれにしても、三国志に関する書としてお薦めできる。
