このいわゆる「ビートルズの新曲」がでたときの興奮はいまも覚えている。 正直なところ、期待半分不安半分だったのが、一聴してとても嬉しくなった。 とくにリアル世代からはいろいろな意見があったと記憶しているが、いま聴いてもほんとうにいい出来栄えだと思う。

マキシ発売当時は批判が相次いだ記憶がある。シングルが出るならアルバムは買わなかった、商業主義だ、など。 しかし、このマキシのカップリングはここでしか聴けない、なおかつ、すばらしい内容だ。
