演奏もよいし録音もよい。歌曲と合唱曲の枚数が多いが、曲が素晴らしい。蛇足だがＣＤラベルのデザインがブラームスのシルエット絵を題材にしており、可愛らしい。廉価ＣＤの割に凝っていると思った。

1997年。バブル期突入で金余りの時代がスタート。15万円近くするブラームス大全集が登場、アニバサリーだから、もう２度と出ないかも知れないと、一家言を持っている方々は、揃ってお買い求めになった。私は指を咥えました。ベームの交響曲全集や主だった作品を買い揃えたばっかりだったこともあります。でもCDに合わせた企画でなかったが故に、やがて新録音も出るだろうと、甘い考えを抱いていました。それが…こんな価格で買えるとは。ごめんさい。
