Product Description

是枝裕和監督作品『誰も知らない』でカンヌ国際映画祭で最優秀男優賞を受賞した柳楽優弥主演作品。ゾウ使いを目指してタイに留学し修行を積んだが、21歳の若さで夭折した坂本哲夢（1972年 - 1992年）の半生・家族や動物達との交流を描いた、実話を基にした作品で、ピュアな心の少年を見事演じきった。

Content Description

小川哲夢（柳楽優弥）は、ある時両親（常盤貴子・高橋克実）が経営する動物プロダクションが購入した子ゾウ・ランディと出会い、その神秘的な力に触れ次第に心を開いてゆく。環境と天賦の才能により、ゾウの言葉を理解できるようになった哲夢は日本人初の少年ゾウ使いを目指し、タイのゾウ訓練学校へ留学する。成長した哲夢は帰国後、ゾウ使いとして活躍し始める。そして、巡業先で出会った動物好きで心優しい女性絵美（蒼井優）に心惹かれていく･･･

This film and it`s entertaining story is build around Yuya Yagira, who has not only the good looks but also a fantastic charisma. He gives this movie the special extra. I can`t wait to see more of him (please, again with english subtitles - which are still too rare on jap. DVD`s). The visuals shot in Thailand are beautiful and the story is unusual. I would have prefered a different ending - but I have to say it was surprising - and that`s not bad either!? I love the Japanese for their quality in DVD an
