最初にこの盤を聴いた時、こりゃー反則だ！...

最初にこの盤を聴いた時、こりゃー反則だ！と30回くらい片えくぼになりながら呟いた。ボーク！テイク・ワン・ベースだ。でもこんなことが出来るのは勿論本人だからであって、多少の演奏や編曲の問題も（「Winding road」がスペクター・ヴァージョンだし！）何ら意に介さないのはさすがにオリジナルの強みだ。「今日の誓い」で涙腺が緩むが、何と言っても「Let it be」や「Hey Jude」は大合唱になり、雰囲気に飲み込まれてしまう。反則だ。他のミュージシャンが束になっても勝てない、ある意味王道とは、を思い知らされる盤。

東京ドームで、ヘイジュード、イェスタデイ、そしてアビ−ロードメドレーを生で聴いて涙をボロボロ流しました。そのときの想いがこのレコードを聴くたびに蘇ります。
