This trio, which featured former Young Marble Giants vocalist Alison Statton alongside guitarists Simon Booth and Spike, pre-dated the Jazz/Pop boom of the mid-to-late '80s (Sade, Carmel, Everything But the Girl) and still sounds as fresh and exciting as it did 25 years ago. ヤング･マーブル･ジャイアンツのボーカルだった、アリソン・スタットン嬢と男性2人を含むバンドの唯一のアルバム。彼らはネオアコ20選とかに選ばれてはいるが、いわゆる初期のアズテックやオレンジジュースとは別物の音楽である。彼らの音楽からは、青春の甘酸っぱさみたいなものを感じ取ることはなく、もっとデザイン的で、ポップアートに近い。それは、ニューヨークパンクのテレビジョンやトーキング･ヘッズに近い。ネオアコ黎明期を代表する名盤！

いかにもギョーカイ受けしそうなそのテのサウンドとは一線を画する正統派英ネオアコと言える秀盤。なんといってもVoの真摯で素朴な歌声が印象的。
