管弦楽曲作品として一気に聴かせるほどの巧みさは、正直コステロには未だありません。しかし、コステロのクラシック畑での活躍を無視する愚かな事もありません。ブロドスキー弦楽四重奏団、オッターとの素晴らしいアルバムがそれを証明して来ています。次は「アンデルセン生誕200年」記念の歌曲演奏会、またそのCD化も予定されているとの事です。

Classicの耳で聴きますと　”弱さ”を感じますが、ハナからべートーヴェンだ、ブルックナーだ、バーンスタインらと競う事はコステロ自身思っていません。 管弦楽で、時にJazzyで、ビート感に溢れ、ポップミュージシャンが誰も歩まなかった道を切り開き始めたエルヴィス・コステロ。今後もこの分野でより面白い作風が発表されるよう期待いたします。次はオペラハウスでの公演に向けて「アンデルセン生誕200年」記念の歌曲制作！
