2025年3月に新宿マルイ本館8階にリニューアルオープンした「HMV record shop 新宿」。

5月16日(金)に、売り場面積を60坪から101坪に拡大しグランドオープン！

グランドオープンでは、新着中古品を中心に2万枚増強し、総在庫6万枚へ拡大。5月17日(土)には中古廃盤セールの開催など、毎週末は中古セールの開催。

さらに、グランドオープンを記念したメインビジュアルは、5月14日(水)にデビュー25周年記念のベストアルバムアナログ盤を発売する【AI（アイ）】に決定！2025年2月に発売し、完売となった代表曲「Story」「ハピネス」2タイトルの7インチアナログも再発。

Back in the Groove: HMV Record Shop Shinjuku Expands in Style

Vinyl lovers, your patience is about to be rewarded.

After its relaunch on the 8th floor of Shinjuku Marui Main Building in March 2025, HMV record shop Shinjuku is ready to level up. On Friday, May 16, the store will officially celebrate its grand opening, unveiling an expanded space that grows from 2,140 to 3,570 square feet. That’s not just more room?it’s more records, more digging, more discoveries.

The newly minted floor will house 60,000 vinyl records, with a whopping 20,000 newly arrived used titles hitting the bins just in time for opening weekend.

To mark the occasion, a Special Used Vinyl Sale will be held on Saturday, May 17, featuring carefully curated selections across genres:

■Indie / Alternative Rock & Punk Vinyl Sale

Dream lineup for collectors?expect UK original pressings like Nirvana’s Bleach on white vinyl and Joy Division’s elusive debut An Ideal for Living 12". From '70s punk and new wave to 2000s indie rarities, this drop is a full-blown vinyl feast.

■Wamono & J-Pop LP Sale

Spotlighting everything from timeless Japanese grooves to J-pop gems, including the cult favorite HELLO! SOLITUDE by Hong Kong’s Alan Tam. Expect rare and beloved LPs and 12”s across the decades.

As if that weren’t enough, the grand opening’s key visual features none other than AI (pronounced "Eye"), whose 25th Anniversary Best Album will drop on vinyl May 14. Her hit 7-inch singles Story and Happiness, previously sold out upon release in February, will also be reissued?just in time for fans to grab them in-store.
