Greg Lamy / Meeting

1974年ニューオリンズ出身で、ルクセンブルグとパリを行き来し活動するギタリスト、グレッグ・ラミー。彼が中心となり2007年結成したカルテット名義でリリースしたアルバム『I see you』(2009年)に続く新作。緻密なギターと、ブレッカーをも思わせる太いサックスによる2フロントで、非4ビートのブルージーかつコンテンポラリーな魅力に溢れたサウンドを展開。あのリオーネル・ルイケも賞賛する聴き応え満点のギター・カルテット作品。ガーシュインの「Summertime」を除く全曲、グレッグ・ラミーによる曲とアレンジ。

ピアニストJohan Dupontが結成した5人組、Muisc 4 A Whileのデビュー・アルバム。コンセプトはルネッサンス音楽の再発見。ピアノ、ベース、ヴァイオリン、クラリネット、そして女性ヴォーカルという編成において、14〜17世紀のクラシック世界観が現代ジャズというフィルターを通して描かれた、ヨーロッパ圏の人間のみが描き出せるユニークなサウンド。
