南イタリアの古都・レッチェ生まれのシンガー・ソングライター、ジョルジオ・トゥマ。日本でも1st 『Uncolored (Swing'n'pop Around Rose) 』 、そして2nd 『My Vocalese Fun Fair』 がリリースされており、HMV ONLINEでもスマッシュヒットとなったインディー・ギターポップの名作です。
過去2作がロングセールスを続ける中、春の訪れとともに届く待望の新作 『In The Morning We'll Meet』 。もちろん今回も信頼の神戸発インディーレーベルプロダクション・デシネからのリリースとなります。過去2作の陽光のまばゆさともまた少し趣の異なる、より “内なる世界” を垣間見るようなアルバム。傑作です。やっぱりジョルジオは凄かった！
本作は完全なコンセプト・アルバムであり、ジョルジオのルーツである60〜70年代のイタリアサントラ、ソフトロック、ジャズ、ボサノヴァ、現在形のギターポップなどのエッセンスを軸に、よりジャジーに、フォーキーに、そして壮大に、メランコリックで夢見心地の世界を描ききっています。
ヴィンテージのソフトロック名盤群のニュアンスがプンプン匂う混声コーラスワークとハーモニー、甘く美しくもせつないメロディセンス、シネマティックでドリーミーなアレンジとミックス。サニーポップといえど部屋聴きにもしっくりくる、実に緻密に練り上げられた世界観。その完成度は驚くほど高いのです。

ジョルジオ・トゥマ Giorgio Tuma :
イタリア南部の都市、レッチェ生まれのシンガー・ソング・ライター。ザ・クラッシュを愛聴していたロックキッズは、ステレオラブの音楽性との遭遇により、“ポップソング”に開眼。Os Tumantesとのバンド活動を経て、ソフトロック、ボサノヴァ、イタリアサントラなど、多様な音楽的嗜好を、ギュッと詰め込んだ2枚のアルバムをリリース。そして、その才能の枠をさらに押し広げた壮大な3rdアルバム『イン・ザ・モーニング・ウィル・ミート』は、まさに彼の天才ぶりを凝縮した、メランコリックでジャジーな名作に仕上がりました。
