Jazzの宝石を探し当てるような気分HORO -PORTRAIT OF A JAZZ LABEL vol.1 compiled by Gilles Peterson ＜ジャイルスのコメント＞私が初めてHoroのカタログに触れたのはSteve Grossmanの“Moonwalk”というアルバムで、87年に初めてDJとしてイタリアのフィレンツェを訪れたときだった。それを見つけたのは、目立たない裏通りの店で、Horoのロゴになぜか惹かれ、そして実は、HOROリリースのKenny Clarkeのアルバムをすでに持っていたということを思い出させてくれた。それ以降、このロゴをつけたアルバムが気になって仕方なかった。そして2008年の春、ローマに滞在中に私の友人のPaolo Scottiから日曜日のランチに誘われたときに予期せぬサプライズがあった。私はその話しをまさに“むさぼり食う”ように聞き入り、そういう瞬間というのはアルドの哲学のようになかなか遭遇できる機会というものではなく、そして私の歩んできた道のり-Jazzの宝石を探し当てるような気分での旅に出たのである。そこにはIro De PaulaやGianni Basso のアルバムが所狭しと並べられていたのである。そしてこのCDには私のお気に入りの曲ばかりが収録されている。Jazz Confronto！( |
