What is Region Code and Video Format?

Region Code and Video Format is a code encoded to DVD, Blu-ray Disc, Games, and DVD-Audio discs.

Depending on the region code, playable DVD players will be narrowed.
ex. DVD player purchased in Japan (Region 2) will not be able to play a DVD purchased in United States (Region 1).

Video Format is the same and narrows playable formats depending on countries. (For some computers this does not apply)
There are 3 Video Formats; NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. (Japan: NTSC)
DVD players purchased in Japan can only play DVDs with "Region Code 2" or "Nihon Uchiba Muke" (Japan Market) discs.
"Region 0" and "ALL" discs are playable worldwide. (If the Video Format is the same)

This also applies for Blu-ray Disc. The Region Code and the Video Format must be the same inorder to play the Blu-ray Disc.
(This again may not apply to some computers)

"Region 0" and "ALL" discs are meant to be playable worldwide. (If the Video Format is the same)
