英国プログレッシヴ・ハードの雄ネクターのデビュー盤が2ch Original Stereo＆5.1ch Surround MixのSACD＋秘蔵ライヴ音源を追加した豪華盤で登場

2015年に奇跡の初来日公演が実現するも、今年6月に中心人物のロイ・アルブライトン(g,vo)が逝去。70年代から00年代の復活期以降、40年以上にわたってドイツを拠点に活動を続けてきたブリティッシュ・プログレッシヴ・ロック〜プログレ・ハード・バンド、ネクター。

1971年Bacillus Recordsから発表された記念すべきデビュー・アルバム『Journey To The Centre Of The Eye』がSACD＋2CDのデラックス・エディションで登場。SACDには、アルバム本編の2ch Original Stereo ＆ 5.1ch Surround Mixを収録。マスターは2004年のリマスター音源を収録。またCD2＆3には、1971年ドイツ・ダルムシュタットでのライヴ音源を完全収録。

まだ混沌としたサイケ〜アートロック志向の強いデビュー期のセッション、のちのアルバムにも収められることとなる楽曲を早くも披露している発掘ライヴ音源など、プログレとハードロックの境界線上にいるかのようなネクターの特異なキャラクターを紐解くにも資料的に価値の高い一枚になるだろう。
