Amazing! This was one of Callas’ greatest years, and in this recording we can get a glimpse of what a true dramatic soprano d’agilita really sounds like. Her vocal facilities at this time weren’t flawed by the passages of time, and we can truly find a great Rossinian artist who has a full control over her voice. In this recording, one can hear Callas’ highest recorded note--a high F!!! I urge anyone who loves Rossini’s operas to give this one a chance. It isn’t a recording to miss.
