One of the finest jazz singers ever! Ella is on fire in Berlin for this live recording that features, among other great standards, a seemingly impromptu version of Mack the Knife, tipping the hat to Louis Armstrong and Bobby Darin (whose version most closely resembles Satchmo’s). Smouldering, invigorating stuff!
