聴き慣れた童謡や唱歌もこうやってドイツ語で歌われると、ドイツ・リートみたいに聴こえるから不思議だ。一部の曲は青島広志による編曲でオリジナルの物ではないが作品を壊すような物ではない。また中田喜直や山田一雄の作品は貴重だろうか。尚、歌詞は何故かボーナストラックの分は記載がない。ちなみにこのボーナストラックのみ日本語歌唱である。

All admirers of this wonderful artist should here all 3 of these discs of Japanese lieder (almost all sung in German translation). The composers are accomplished and the poetry shares with German romanticism an acute appreciation for the natural world. One can see why Haefliger lavished such care on these works and why the audiences (in the live tracks) have such love for this irreplaceable performer. Very beautiful music.
