I love to hear and see this DVD despite certain drawbacks from some singing and orchestral playing. It is an authentic and lively Russian opera performance from Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Redkin in the title role is unremarkable but Gavrilova is powerful in the role of Tatiana. Baskov is a bizarre choice for the role of Lensky, his voice is more suitable to the comprimario (supporting) roles but he still offers brilliant singing. The set designing and costume are near-ideal.

ポクロフスキーの絵画のような美しい舞台、実力派揃いの歌手、エルムレルの指揮も素晴らしい重厚な名舞台である。 残念なのは2000年収録とは信じられない不安定な画質・音質・・・ロシア経済困窮の時代とはいえ、同時期のキーロフの映像作品に比べると酷すぎる。 それにしても「オネーギン」がＤＶＤ１枚に収まらなかったものだろうか？
