イギリス国内のみならず、世界規模での影響力を誇るイギリスの音楽誌『NME』が2005年のベスト・アルバム50枚を発表！

栄えある第1位には、ニューウェイヴ・リヴァイヴァル・シーンを牽引したBloc Partyの『Silent Alarm』が選ばれました！

Bloc Partyは2005年2月に待望のアルバム・デビューを果たしたピカピカのニューカマー。80年代のニュー・ウェイヴやポスト・パンクといったサウンドを現代の感覚/手法で蘇らせた若手バンドの担い手で、2005年のブレイク筆頭候補として早くからその名前をいたるところで挙げられていました。

デビュー･アルバム『Silent Alarm』は勿論HMVでも大ヒットを記録。アルバムのリリース時にはメンバーからじきじきに直筆のコメントを頂きました！2006年も彼らの更なる活躍に期待しましょう！
