メインの『くるみ割り人形』は意識的に実際...

メインの『くるみ割り人形』は意識的に実際のバレエのテンポで演奏しているのか、間延びしているとまでは言わないが単調に聴こえてしまう所がある。 主旋律以外の旋律も聴こえてくるのは面白いが、全体的に地味な印象はぬぐえなかった。 ケルン・ギュルツェニヒ管弦楽団の音色は華やかさより渋みが感じられて、『くるみ割り人形』という作品との相性が必ずしも良いとは思わなかった。 それに比べてストラヴィンスキイの『ディヴェルティメント』はチャイコフスキイの作品のメロディーを引用して作られたバレエ音楽『妖精の接吻』の抜粋版だが、第一楽章などはとても雰囲気が出ている。
