レナード・バーンスタイン名盤1000
交響詩「ドン・キホーテ」、祝典前奏曲

期間生産限定盤
「ドン・キホーテ」は1943年に、ワルターの代役としてニューヨーク・フィルの指揮台に初めて上ったバーンスタインが指揮したコンサートのメイン・プログラムだった曲。ただし正規録音はこの1968年のものが唯一。描写力に優れた演奏はさすがで、次々と変わる情景が目に浮かぶよう。なお、チェロ独奏のローン・マンローはバーンスタインが1964年にフィラデルフィア管弦楽団から「ヘッドハンティング」した名手で、ソリスト顔負けの妙技を披露しています。（メーカー資料より）
