    日本での知名度が低めのLincoln Center Jazz Orchestraだが、勿体ない。メンバーは、名高いマルサリスを始め、エリントン楽団に引けを取らず、クールで静かな演奏から、全身の血が煮えくりかえるような激しいプレイまで幅広い。 1曲目の「Happy Go Lucky Local」が、カントリー風味で、エリントンとはまた違った味わいを持っている。 そしてアルバムの終わり、11曲目「Portrait of Louis Armstrong」は、マルサリスのソロが生き生きとして、ライブの盛り上がりを保ったまま終結を迎えている。エリントンが余すことなく表現されている一枚である。
