■　1976年にリリースされた、アルバム『プレゼンス』はドイツ、ミュンヘンのミュージックランド・スタジオで、わずか18日間という期間で、エネルギーを溜め込んだ竜巻の様に一挙にレコーディングされた。その作品は、全米そして全英でも１位に輝き、トリプル・プラチナムに認定される。「アキレス最後の戦い（Achilles Last Stand）」や「俺の罪（Nobody's Fault But Mine）」といった、エネルギーに満ち溢れ、燃え上がる様なツェッペリンの名曲で、グループが本能的に有しているハードな衝撃をもたらした。

■　『プレゼンス』のコンパニオン・オーディオは、5曲のレファレンス・ミックスとよばれる、その制作過程を明らかにする音源から選ばれている。
「フォー・ユア・ライフ」「アキレス最後の戦い」や「ロイヤル・オルレアン」といった楽曲の別の形が明らかになる一方で、今回初めて聴く事ができるインスト・ナンバーで、不思議なタイトルがつけられた「10リブズ＆オール／キャロット・ポッド・ポッド（ポッド）」が日の目を見る。
