デビュー作にして最高傑作。②の哀愁感、③の驚異のハイトーンボーカル、④のギターオーケストレーション、⑦のヘビーメタル感、⑩のグルーブ感、全く飽きが来ない。

ツェッペリンと言えば、やっぱりこの１枚目と２枚目だと思う。この２枚でこれぞブリティッシュ・ハード・ロックという雛形や、ギター小僧のリフの教典みたいなるものを作った功績は大きい。３枚目以降はアメリカンフォークやブリティッシュトラッドフォークを愛聴していたジミー・ペイジ自身の趣味性も垣間見えるし、初期の頃の凶暴性というか、ぶっ飛んた感じが鳴りを潜めるので、あまり聴いてはいない。

曲はいいのかもしれないが、詞のほうが全くついてきてない。 初期のロバート・プラントは歌詞に思い入れが皆無なのか、それとも真剣に書いていないのか、鑑賞に堪えない言葉の並びだと思う。
