オーソドックスなHRを聴いている人には、一聴すると癖が強くて取っ付きにくい印象がある（自分がそうだった）でも慣れてくると②③⑥も心地よくなる。単純に佳曲の④⑤⑨とファースト同様飽きさせない。名盤。

ファーストアルバムと同様に、詞がないがしろにされている感じがして評価できない。歌詞がある以上、曲だけで評価するのは偏りすぎだから、レッド・ツェッペリンの真価は初期の楽曲には存在しないと思っている。

Led Zeppelinのギターリフは、当然ジミー・ペイジが考えたと言われているが、実際はコードが絡んでいるものはJPだが、単音のフレーズでできているものはベースのジョン・ポール・ジョーンズが考えたものが多いそうだ。まぁ、このころは作曲というより即興で作った(思いついた)モノがほとんどなので、区別することはできないのだろうが、「Lemon Song」の中間部分でJPJが次々と繰り出す素晴らしいフレーズを聞いていると、それが本当のように思えてくる。「Heartbreaker」のシンプルだが格好良いあのギターリフは、どちらが考えたのだろう。
