コルトレーン芸術の頂点を記録した傑作である事に異議をはさむジャズファンはまずいないだろう。スピリチュアルな高みを目指しながらも難解ではなく、聴き易い点も特筆。 尚、Complete Editionとの2枚組は、コルトレーン・ファン必聴の名盤（更にライブ演奏を入れた3枚組もあり）だが、別テイク等の歴史的記録の意味合いも強く、初心者は本作を聞きこむべきと思う。

　個人的感覚が鈍いのか薄いフリージャズに聞こえ演奏に聞き入り、入り易いフリージャズだと思いましたが、演奏だけでは何度も聞かないかな。 　見開きジャケット内にジャズ評論家　等の書評では無くミュージシャン・リーダーからのメッセージは珍しいです。英語で書かれているので日本語のライナーノートが封入されていない限り英語原文のままの解読は難しいです。

Acoustic Sounds 180グラム盤のレビュー。 音質よし。盤質良し。 ジャケの印刷きれい、丁寧でしっかりした作り。オリジナル盤に比較的忠実な再現度なのだが、輸入盤は相変わらずジャケットに直接バーコードが印刷されているのが残念。 「Ballads」も期待できる。
