    ブルーノ・ワルターが1950年代に録音した音源の復刻です。 ヨハン・シュトラウスのワルツや序曲を録音した物を中心に、ブラームスのハンガリー舞曲とスメタナのモルダウを収録しています。 シュトラウスはコロンビア交響楽団の演奏で、有名なハリウッドのオケではなく、ニューヨークでの録音なので、解説にあるニューヨーク・フィルやNBC交響楽団からの混成オケなのでしょう。 アンサンブルはまぁまぁで、意外とあっさりとしてほどほどにウィーン風の演奏です。 ブラームスとスメタナはニューヨーク・フィルハーニックの演奏でそれぞれ、1952年と1941年の録音ですが、年代を遡る程、演奏に覇気があります。
