Orchestral Works Vol.2 -Symphonies : John Wilson / BBC Philharmonic, Jonathan Scott(Organ)(Hybrid)

This release of Aaron Coplands orchestral works follows a highly successful recording of the composers ballet music led by American music specialist, John Wilson. This program is unique, and Mr. Wilson has chosen works which best highlight Coplands personal, unique, and sometimes unorthodox compositional language. From the twenty Orchestral Variations on an original theme, which was originally written for the piano, to the controversial Symphonic Ode, Coplands fingerprint is all over these works. Also featured is Coplands early work Symphony for Organ and Orchestra, which is much less performed than the other pieces on this release. The organ soloist is Jonathan Scott, who made his concert premiere in 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall.
