    Introducing Brad Mehldau(1995)に先立つ1993年はBarcelonaでのライブ。地元のMario Rossy (b), Jordi Rossy (d)のボトムに支えられて、若きMehldauの才気がほとばしり出ます。一曲目は気負いというか勢いが過ぎて、ちょっと耳障りな演奏になってしまいましたが、以降はペースを掴んだピッチャーのように危なげない投球で完投を果たします。周囲が騒ぐほどMehldauのことを理解できないダメな聴き手でしたが、この直球はしっかり受け止めたいと思います。
