贅沢にもベルリオーズの最高傑作とも言える２作を同時収録。「イタリアのハロルド」、妙にドライな録音が気になるがDGの「幻想」の時のようなオケの違和感もなく、はるかにミンコフスキらしさが出ているとは思う。個人的にはもうちょっとめくるめく色彩感を期待したのだが、最終楽章(これは最高!!)以外はやや大人しめの印象か。「夏の夜」は...オッターでなくとも良いのにと思えなくもない。今のアルトに近いような落ち着いた声でこれを歌われてもちっとも面白くない。移調楽譜なのもマイナス。
