私としては第九のベスト演奏と思います。どなたかが仰っていたように、確かに3楽章までと、4楽章とでは違和感が禁じえません。録音日の違いもあるかもしれませんが、元々4楽章は別の曲として構想されていたが、ロンドンの協会？からの作曲依頼により、急遽無理やりくっつけて提供したとの記事をどこかで見たことがある。もし事実であれば、それが違和感の原因かもしれません。実際、F.ディースカウはこの後、二度と歌わなかったそうです。真偽のほどはいざしらず、名演であることに変わりはありません。 この録音の後、白血病に罹るフリッチャイですが、後年の7番、5番のような重厚で、じっくり音楽に取り組む姿勢は、この時点から萌芽しているようです。

素晴らしい演奏である。フルトベングラーが出してていたであろう、ベルリンフィルの音色が、ステレオでよみがえったといいて良いのではないだろうか。

確かに凄い演奏ですね、第三楽章までは。しかし、第四楽章に入ると空気が一変します。それは、第四楽章だけ録音日が違うからと以前に聞いたことがあります。第三楽章までなら★7つ、第四楽章は平凡で★3つですかね。よって、総合★5つということで（笑）。
