ヴェデルニコフの幅広いレパートリーの中でもベートーヴェンは格別に素晴らしかった。このＣＤでは初期のソナタ第１番と後年の大作第29番《ハンマークラヴィーア》を収録。後者はヴェデルニコフ自身も気に入っていたという渾身の名演。ほとんど編集をしていない（ワンテイクに近い）という大きな音楽の流れが魅力的だ。

On my point of view, simply the best Hammerklavier after Richter and Gilels. Adagio sostenuto is played just Adagio (dur：23’07), but not forced in the manner some pianist try to show themselves more interesting than they are in truth. Also the first sonata is superb, but the third movement is not at Richter’s level.
