アート・ブレイキー＆ザ・ジャズ・メッセンジャーズのライヴの聖地、NYのバードランドでのライヴ・アルバムは1954-1960年にBlue Noteに 『A Night at Birdland』, 『At the Jazz Corner of the World』, 『Meet You at the Jazz Corner of the World』とあるがその中でも来日する前年1960年9月14日に行われたライヴ盤2枚組が再発。サンプリングで多く使用されるPee Wee MarquetteのMCも収録。文句なしのハード・バップ名盤。前メンバーハンク・モブレーの書き下ろし‘The Opener’,, モーガン作の‘What Know’、さらにマイルスの‘The Theme’を収録。
