    ヘビー級の空手家、佐竹らしい、まっすぐな本。 強すぎたのか、理由不明のまま、極真のオープントーナメントへの参加を拒否されている。 正道会館に入らなければ、ＴＶ局の職員だったのに、月給５万で何でもやらされ、脳の損傷の恐れがある状態で戦わされる過密スケジュールが続く。 膠着した試合のさなか、 「こういう時に目を突けたら、すぐ試合が終わるのに」 と考えてしまう空手家。 後進を育てるといい、戦いの場から離れたが、彼が道場破りまがいの事を世界中で行い、Ｋ-1戦士たちを日本に呼び寄せた功績を忘れてはいけない。
