これがRCOかと思うほどの解像度の高い演奏と録音。このオケのかつての重厚的で重心が低いイメージは覆される。第2楽章やフィナーレでは、シャイーとは思えぬほど、テンションの高い演奏をしている。管楽器のソロの色彩感も豊かで、この伝統あるオーケストラの新たなる可能性を発見できた。
